On the 23rd May, Radio 1 DJ Nihal, a former pupil, returned to Burnt Mill, for the launch of Radio Piccadilly. He toured the school before getting to know the school's new radio station, Radio Piccadilly. Nihal met the Radio Piccadilly team who are nearing the end of their training with Steve Saunders of Harvey FM and Charlie McCarthy, Deputy Head at the school. The team recorded an interview with Nihal before he met a larger group of pupils for a question and answer session. Nihal rounded off the day by broadcasting a live lunchtime show.

The Radio Piccadilly team were delighted to meet a former pupil who was able to give them lots of advice as they embark on their own radio careers. Radio Piccadilly broadcasts to the main areas of Burnt Mill. The team are currently approaching local businesses to sponsor the development of the radio station.

This is a fantastic resource for our pupils, staff and community. It's about music. communication, confidence and fun. Charlie McCarthy Deputy Head.
